Dear Friends:

The springtime daily low fog here at the beach, called May Gray and June Gloom, gave way earlier than usual as we unveiled our new 100’ long display booth at NEOCON three weeks ago. And what a reception it had! It virtually glowed!

For decades we had been showing off our furniture components on tabletop displays with some of the table legs and drawer pulls, and power grommets mounted in or on a table or desk. Basically, though, parts were just laid on a table. But it just wasn’t ‘real.’ So for 2023, we challenged our trade show department to come up with a better mousetrap… and they did!

They concluded we needed real-life sets so visitors could see the components in action, much as they would use them. So they designed small sets: an executive office set, a home office one, a kitchen installation, a bedroom, a gaming set-up, and a living room scene. And we used our parts in the sets much as you would.

Bingo! We had more than one, “Oh, now I get it. That’s how it goes …”

The end result was we had a nearly 50% increase in visitors over the last few years. And, yes, we were more than quite pleased with how the new show displays were received. In 2024 we may have more! Stay tuned.
